Daman employees and Hannah’s House employees & residents graciously volunteered their time for festivities at Daman’s annual Carnival on Saturday, July 20th from 11:30-2:30.
Daman’s support of Hannah’s house included: 1) multiple employee donations of much needed household, personal and baby items, 2) a donation of nearly $200.00 from the proceeds of a dunk tank to offer a “paid” opportunity to dunk their fearless leaders, and 3) a break room “Hannah’s House Display” sampling Dollar Tree items that are ongoing needs of every household to remind employees to make a small donation during the days around the event.
Daman chose to support Hannah’s House mission based on their reputation and growth of Hannah’s House, from a shelter for pregnant teens to an outreach ministry that provides a safe home, emotional support and programming to assist pregnant women of all ages in “getting their lives together.”
Hannah’s House mission statement is: “believing in the sanctity of life and the innate value of each person, Hannah’s House is a maternity home that provides a safe environment, programming and support for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of pregnant young women.”
The first house was opened in 1993 under the name Mother Care Home and in 1995 it was renamed Hannah’s House to symbolize the biblical character Hannah, who greatly desired to be a Mother.
Daman encourages our community to not forget the short list of requested needs that can make a big difference the young mothers at Hannah’s House.
Paper products such as 4-pack toilet paper, single roll paper towels, napkins, paper plates, Kleenex, garbage bags, etc.
Cleaning supplies such as laundry soap, dish soap, Lysol wipes, Scrubbing Bubbles, Toilet bowl cleaner, hand soap, dishwasher soap, disinfectant spray, etc.
Baby products such as bottles, shampoo, lotion, baby wash, pacifiers, wipes, thermometers, diapers (all sizes), ointments, powder, etc.
Queen or twin size bed sheets
Gift cards to grocery stores such as Meijer; Martin’s; Wal-Mart; Sam’s Club; Target; Kroger; Aldi, etc.
Gift cards to home improvement stores such as: Menard’s; Lowes; Home Depot; etc.
Gift cards to discount stores such as Family Dollar, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, etc.
